From the families we have worked with

Praewa Thipjaroen

Bangkok, Sathorn — May 2025

We came to the communication workshop not quite knowing what to expect. My mother and I have different ways of expressing things and it had started to cause friction at home. The session gave us a shared way to talk about how we were feeling without it escalating. I would say it was more useful than I anticipated — and I went in fairly sceptical.

We are a mixed household — German and Thai — and coordinating important documents had become genuinely confusing. Araya walked us through the records system during a one-hour session and it was surprisingly straightforward. The templates are practical, not over-designed. The only thing I would say is that we needed about two weeks to actually put everything in place, but the system held up once we did.

Nattawan Wongchai

Bangkok, Lat Phrao — June 2025

My siblings and I needed to discuss how to handle some family responsibilities after our father's health changed. It was a conversation none of us wanted to start on our own. The facilitation session at Hearthline gave us a structure to do that without it becoming an argument. Nattaporn was calm and fair throughout. We left with a clear sense of what had been said and what each of us had agreed to consider.

Bangkok, Chatuchak — April 2025

We attended the communication workshop as a couple with adult children at home. What I found most useful was the section on how to raise something without it coming across as a criticism. It is a small adjustment in language but it made a real difference in how we talk at home now. We found out about Hearthline through a friend and I have since recommended it to two other families.

I will be honest: I was not entirely sure what a facilitation session would involve and had some hesitation about whether it was worth the cost. It turned out to be a useful experience. The conversation we had was one we had been circling around for months and having someone external to manage the structure made it easier for everyone to speak directly. The written summary was a good touch — it gave us something to refer back to.

We used the records organisation service after moving to a larger home and realising we had important documents in four different places. The folder system is genuinely simple to maintain and the templates cover most of what we actually need. What I appreciated was that Araya did not try to make things more complicated than they needed to be.

How It Worked in Practice

A closer look at three family experiences

Case Study 01 — Communication Workshop

The Situation

A multi-generational household — three adults, two generations — found that day-to-day decisions were increasingly difficult to make without someone feeling unheard. Small matters had started to carry more weight than they should.

What We Did

The family attended a two-hour communication workshop. The session covered how to express a concern without assigning blame and how to listen without immediately responding. We finished with a brief group exercise using their own household topics.

What Followed

The family reported that family check-ins became easier and shorter. Minor disagreements resolved more quickly. Within three weeks, they had introduced a brief weekly household meeting using the structure from the workshop.

"It was not a dramatic change, but a useful one. We have fewer unresolved things." — Workshop participant

Case Study 02 — Records Organisation Tools

The Situation

An expatriate couple with two school-age children had household documents spread across different devices, folders, and physical locations. When urgent information was needed, finding it took thirty minutes or more.

What We Did

We prepared a customised set of templates covering medical contacts, school information, household utilities, and shared calendar notes. The onboarding session walked both partners through the folder structure and how to maintain it going forward.

What Followed

The family reported that finding critical information now takes under two minutes. They have since added a section for travel documents and emergency contacts — building on the base structure we provided.

"We should have done this two years ago. It is one of those things you wonder why you put off." — Records Tools client

Case Study 03 — Facilitation Session

The Situation

Three adult siblings needed to discuss how shared responsibilities would be managed as their parents aged. Previous attempts at the conversation had ended with one sibling withdrawing. The family wanted a neutral structure to try again.

What We Did

After separate brief intakes with each participant, we held an 85-minute facilitation session at our Phra Nakhon location. Each sibling had equal time to speak. The facilitator kept the conversation on the agreed agenda and intervened gently when the discussion drifted.

What Followed

The written summary was distributed within 24 hours. Each sibling confirmed what they had agreed to consider. Within a fortnight, they had a follow-up conversation on their own — using the agenda format from the session as a guide.

"We were not expecting it to feel so manageable. The summary helped us refer back without another argument." — Facilitation client
